Nodensa Mile Stones
APRIL 2006
"What can I do?" That was the question 52 year old Magnus Larsson from
Sweden, asked his diabetes nurse when he was diagnosed with Diabetes
Type-2, in 2006. The answer was life style chances, such as increasing
physical activity and being more aware of food and drink intake. This
was not to to mention the fact that he should stop smoking. According
to the nurse these changes were crucial in order ease the disease,
prevent side effects and balance the blood sugar.
"How will I manage to change my life style without
more support and knowledge from the health care professionals?" That
question was raised a few days later by Magnus to his friend Mats
Sköld, an entrepreneur with experience from the Swedish health
care sector. After a few hours of discussions, they both realized that
they had the network and knowledge to develop a digital toolbox, for
the 300,000 people diagnosed with diabetes in Sweden. This toolbox
could be used in interaction between the medical professionals and
patients. The project "Diabetes Coach" was started.
JUNE 2006
The IT company "Nodensa AB", was formed six months later, together with
business developers Martin Ohlsson and Daniel Arenholm. Together, they
form the management of Nodensa. They possess substantional experience
and knowledge in world wide health care, technology, marketing and
business development.Throughout 2006 the technology behind the first
product was developed.
MARCH 2007
The first software application by Nodensa; DiabetesCoach™
was introduced in March of 2007. In development of DiabetesCoach and for the
future product portfolio, Nodensa has recruited a senior scientific
advisory board, and a team of experts for each product area.
DiabetesCoach in Europe is based on guidelines developed by EASD and DNSG, 25 years of
united research and expertise in diabetes and prevention of diabetes.
AUGUST 2007
DiabetesCoach was first launched in Finland and is sold through the
pharmacy chains directly to consumers. As of November 2006
DiabetesCoach in Sweden is mainly promoted and sold through Roche
Diagnostics and its Accu-Chek Club. The Nordic market is seen as a test
market to prove the concept and the product functions as intended.
FUTURE
Nodensa's mission is to develop life style related software
applications for wellness and health care. In the beginning of 2008
Nodensa aims to launch PegnancyCoach™
and HypertensionCoach™, the third and fourth software
out of many to come.
Nodensa now also provides its technology as private
label and co-branding.
